Food is a very important resource for keeps people life, but now we are faced the food crisis. In almost of the world the fertile land is becoming less and less. We don’t have enough fertile land to grow food. Therefore, it becomes a very serious problem when our foods begin to have crisis that can cause we die because of no food supply. We must to find solutions for solve food crisis, because people have to rely on food to get energy, if no food supply anymore people will die from no energy. Next, solve the food problem also save the land. Lands can become fertile again. Finally, if land becomes fertile again, we can grow more trees and plant to create good environment. Depend on these reasons we must to solve our world food problem.

When food become less that will be a very important for everyone because we have to rely on food to keep our life. Therefore, the world food problems become very serious and important. Now, in the world begin have food problems. Our fertile lands are degraded and population grown to cause world food problem. People become more and more, so we have to produce more and more food for this population growth. However, we do not have enough fertile lands to grow food and we already used the land for other purposes. People use the fertile land for growing crops and grazing cattle or for producing biofuels. Then, we don’t have good manner to use the land because we make the soil degraded and erosion. According to an article in Share the World’s Resources, “The majority of soil erosion is caused by water, either through flooding or poor irrigation, with the rest lost to winds. Farming practices such as ploughing also damage soil, as does repeated planting in fields, which depletes the soil of nutrients” (Global Food Crisis Looms as Climate Change and Population Growth Strip Fertile Land, 2007, para. 4). Another serious problem is we log the forest too much cause the deforestation and make too many pollution to pollute soil and land. Therefore, we must to solve these problems for stop the food crisis.

First, we have to change our attitude and manner to use lands because people do not have right attitude and manner to use lands. We use some fertile lands for grazing. According to Common Dreams News Center “the maps reveal that more than one third of the world’s land is being used to grow crops or graze cattle” (Ravilious, 2005, para. 1), so it reduces the number of lands that have fertile we can use to grow food. Another wrong attitude is farmer use the wrong manner to use lands. Farmer always uses land again and again when they are planting food. However, it is very harmful to our land when we do not give the land a rest to replace the nutrition in soil, we cannot grow food anymore. Therefore, replacement is a very important first step to solve food crisis.

Second, stop and reduce harm our land and resources. In this century we live now have a lot of people, so we have big population. Therefore, big population make big problem because people start to damage environment. They make deforestation and pollution. Deforestation means logging a lot of trees, but it is very harmful for our environment. Trees are very important protection for soil because trees can protect and prevent soil and water from going away. However people log tree a lot, so it makes a lot of water and soil are lose from the land and lose good environment of the land to plant food resources, because we lose the fertile land. Also, people make pollution damaged the environment, it cause soil become so bad. Plant foods need good and health environment, but polluted water and soil it make we cannot grow good food because every plant will die from pollution. According to Miller (1994), “air and water pollution from extraction, processing, transportation, and combustion of fossil fuels used in industrialized agriculture (p.43).” In the end, we have to stop harm our land and resources.

Third, we can discover and eat other food resources because of the fertile lands are becoming degraded, so we cannot have enough food to supply our societies. However, we do not have to eat the food we plant from the land, so discover new food resources become very important and necessary. In our world the seafood is not from the land and we do not have to plant it, so seafood is good resource to solve our food crisis. Sometime we can eat seafood to instead when we don’t have enough food to eat. Moreover, sea is a big world under the ground and it has a lot of created live in it, so seafood is good way to solve food crisis. Then, aquaculture is another solution for some countries cannot have seafood. Aquaculture means fish farming. People breed fish and eat it to instead crop. According to Miller (1994), “aquaculture supplies about 10% of the world’s commercial fish harvest (p.46).” and “it can produce high yields (p.46).” Depend on this people do not have to worry about food problem. Moreover, we don’t have to eat the food we plant because we can try to eat wild food. Wild foods grow itself we don’t have to feed them. The wild food like some plants or insects can grow itself without care and feed, so we also can eat it to reduce our food crisis. In fact, according to Miller (1994), “Scientists have identified many plants and inset that could be used as sources of food (p.44).” Therefore, these two food resources are good resources to try.

Opponents of some expert think food problem are not a serious problem and we can use money to get more resources. However that is not a good way to solve food crisis. In our world now we already do not have enough land to grow food. Dr. Ramankutty said, “Expect for Latin America and Africa, all the places in the world where we could grow crops are already being cultivated. The remaining places are either to cold or too dry to grow crops” (Ravilious, 2005, para.11). According to this we can know if we don’t care about the food problem that will become very serious problem. It can mean that we don’t have any food to eat or plant to supply people in the future. Second, using money to get more resources, it goes against the nature. If we don’t replace the environment and just pay more money to get more food resource constantly that can cause everything to become nothing one day. We just pay more and more money to get resource and still do not care the condition about the land, so the environment is still bad. Thus one day the money will be consumed. Finally, countries will become poor because of the bad environment and bad economy. Therefore, stop the naïve thinking and stop to waste money for get more food resources. Using money on solve food problem and environment is a very important and best way to rescue country.

In conclusion, food problem is becoming a serious problem cause no food supply, because food crisis is caused by many reasons that we can prevent, so we must prevent food crisis and care about it. To solve food crisis we have to change our attitude and manner of using the lands, stop and reduce harm our land and resources and discover and eat other food resources. Following these methods will help to solve our world food problem. In the end, people should help environment. It is equal to helping themselves to live happily.

References

Cereal prices hit poor countries. (2008, February 14). BBC NEWS. First, he introduce the clone is allowed to product and shows some food expert they said clone food is safe to eat and indicate U.S and Europe they both want clone to label and product. Later he makes some question to ask the clone is good and safe to eat or not. Then, author introduces the profit about elite cow and how can elite cow make good profit. The importance is the cloning is the latest and most powerful reproductive tool and also he told us the U.S. farmers already have clone cow and it already entered in the food supply. And then the author explains we do not have to afraid it because even thought some clone cow have some problem, but it doesn’t hurt people.

In this article the author talk about clone. He gave us some information and gave some advantage about clone. Clone is really not a harmful thing because it is not really harm people and provide us good food. Also, clone helps framers earn more profit. Clone is a high technique in the world. It brings too many convenient things to us. Cloning provides high quality meat, fruit and vegetable. Then, we do not have to pay a lot of money, but we can eat it. Therefore, clone should continue to use.

First, clone can provide us good food. In the past we did not have clone this kind of high quality technique, so everyone just can eat what they feed. They did not have choice, but now it can be change. Clone is a technique can copy one good genetic to create the same thing. Therefore if we have one food resource that is really prefect and valuable that will be a good chance to make more good food resources. Moreover, we can begin have more and more good food resources to eat and that will become easy. We can begin have high quality and health meats, vegetables and fruits. Depend on cloning we can easily to offer good food for everybody and people can eat more good food now.

Second, clone can create more food resources because clone can copy and extract the genetic material, so depend on this cloning can create more food resources. We can extract the genetic from one and mix to another one to create new food resources or depend on cloning we can change one food resource’s live habit. For example, if the food resource is very weak to gown up, like it can die very easily we can make it become stronger. In the past when we do not have this kind of high quality technique we just can eat and plant what food we already know or have, but now in the market we already have some fruits and vegetables made from this kind of cloning. They have new taste and new looking, so it can become our new food resources, because cloning create the new food we ever have before. Therefore, clone is great because it can offer we more foods to eat.

Third, clone is not harmful because it is high technique, so we can believe clone is safe because high technique cannot have risk or it can reduce risk. In the market and farmers already have clone food for sale and people already eat it, but until now nobody get problem form eat cloned food. Everyone is safe to eat clone food. Also, expert indicate even thought the animal got some problem itself, but it is not harmful to customer when they eat it (Guterl, 2008). Therefore, we can know clone is harmless and changeful we should continue to use it.

In conclusion, cloning is a good technique to change our life and give us a lot of new things. Clone can provide us with good food, it can create more food resources and it is not harmful. Also clone prove our technology is improved because depend on this technique we can create more new food resources, provide high quality food. Depend on clone framer can provide good meat to customer, but it do not cost too much on farmer and customer. So, according to these advantages we can know clone is helping us to improve our marketing. Therefore, clone is a good choice to use to improve our society.

Reference:

Guterl, F. (2008, January 18). It is a common behavior to want to use cell phone when they are driving. However, it is very dangerous. Now, in the Untied States already have some states where begin to ban this behavior because it has some potential dangers. Using cell phone while driving car causes a lot of serious problems that make people die. Therefore, using cell phone while driving car should be banned, because personal problems, economic problems and traffic problems.

First, it is personal problem. Using cell phone while driving car makes people cannot able concentrate to drive. People just talking on the phone do not notice about traffic changes. Moreover, using cell phone during driving is equal people drive when they are drunk. According to Curry’s article “using a cell phone while driving to the impact of driving legally drunk” (Curry, 2003, para. 02). This is because people using cell phone on the drive do not have a clear mind to notice the traffic changes and they do not know when they should change their speed for preventing to hit other cars. So, people using cell phone during driving car cause the accidents. Therefore, for prevent these kinds of accidents using cell phone while driving car should be banned.

Second, using cell phone while driving car can cause economic problems. It causes people and government to lose money. When people using cell phone while driving car that will increase the gasoline waste. The reason is people just concentrate on talking on the phone, so they will slow down their drive speed and do not change to the fast speed way because they don’t know which way is fast can let them arrive quickly. Therefore, it take a long time to drive and people have to pay extra money to buy extra gasoline. Next, when the accident happened, people get injured by the accidents and the cars and roads are also damaged, so people have to pay extra money to see a doctor and repair car or buy new car. The government has to pay money because of making the road back, like build brand new road for people to drive. Therefore, using cell phone while driving car should be banned because it causes everybody to waste money.

Third, using cell phone while driving car cause traffic problem. It makes the traffic jam. When people using cell phone while driving car they slow the speed and do not change to the other fast ways or some road do not have too many cars. And usually on the highway always have a lot of cars. If the highway doesn’t have a lot of cars that will be fine, but if there have a lot of cars and too many people using cell phone during driving car that will make a big traffic problem. It is make everybody slow down and become a traffic jam. Using cell phone during driving car that waste people’s time, make people have more long time when they going to work and cause traffic jam. Therefore, it should be banned.

Opponents of using cell phone while driving car some people say they still are fine when they are using cell phone while driving car. In addition, some people say sometimes they have to pick up some important or emergency call, so they have to use it. However, these things are not true and totally wrong. The truth, using cell-phone while driving car, affects people to drive and their safety. According to an article in Ezine Articles, “chatting on your cell phone makes you four times more vulnerable to a serious car crash than someone who does not use a cell phone while driving” (Morris, 2006, para. 1). Next, some people say they have to use cell phone during driving car because they have to wait or talk about some important or emergency call. However, now we can do some method to change this situation. The method is like use the hand-free headset, make a distance that we can reach thus we don’t have to bend to answer and use the phone when we stop driving (Curry, 2003). Using cell phone during driving is really bad because it can cause accident. And now we can have a lot of method to prevent using cell phone while driving, so using cell phone while driving is not necessary anymore. Therefore, using cell phone while driving be banned.

In conclusion, using cell phone while driving car is a really bad and dangerous behavior for everyone. It causes people to have accidents, economic problems and traffic problems. It makes get hurt and die and pay extra money on it. Therefore, we love ourselves, and we better follow the expert’s direction. Use the hand-free headset when we are driving, make a distance that we can reach thus we don’t have to bend to answer and use the phone when we stop driving. In the end, the most important good way for protect our life is not use cell phone while driving and ban it.

References:

Curry, P. (2003, September 28). My research paper is about penguins. I chose penguins for my research because they have become endangered. Currently our climate has changed, and the biggest reason is global warming. It pushes penguins to die. Now, a lot of pollution makes global warming and global warming makes the temperatures get warm. And global warming makes the sea temperatures become high until some creatures cannot live in there, and makes the sea ice melt. Therefore, penguins cannot live in their ecosystem anymore. They have to find other land to live on or go to extinction. A century ago, a lot of penguins lived, waddled, and swam to some islands. “There were almost 120,000 penguins who lived in our world and they could live very well.”(Wines, M. 2007.) In the past there was a large number of these animals in our world. And penguins had a lot of different colonies in our world; some were African penguins, Gentoo penguins or Antarctic penguins. Now our society has a lot of developed technology and scientific stuff to use, so we make a lot of pollution in our world. It causes global warming and affects penguins’ lives, so penguins become less and less in our world, and fishing, hunting, and commercialism are also problems. Our experts have found this problem, so now government has begun to protect penguins. They are doing some things like cutting greenhouse gases to protect penguins, because they want penguins to survive in our world.

Our adorable penguins are going to extinction because of global warming. It is caused by too many reasons, so people should save and protect penguins to be alive. Therefore, to save our adorable penguins we can do these methods. We can find a new home for penguins, we should ban some artificial activity that will push penguins to die and we have to do some solution to prevent and reduce global warming, to stop global warming from pushing penguins to die.

First, we can find a new home for penguins. Now, penguins are becoming extinct, because they have no place that can offer them a home, so finding a new place is important, so we can find new places that have abundant resources, and food that can be provided for penguins. Then, we can offer artificial security care to care for penguins and make a new place where no external factors will cause penguins to die. Another thing we also can do is to take care of young penguins during the time when the penguins don't have a good immunity against high temperature. Here are some solutions said “predator control, protection of habitat and food supply”(RoguePundit, 2006, par.5). Now we have already had some home for penguins. That is Quality housing for blue penguins. “This kind of nest box design illustrated on the right has been used to accommodate blue penguins in areas where suitable nest sites have not been available”(blue penguin). And now we also have the monitoring program to protect penguins’ habitat that is for monitor penguin nesting habitat. According to these solution find a new home for penguins is also an important way to save penguins.

Second, we should ban some artificial activity which will pushes penguins to die. These kinds of artificial activity also have a big effect to push penguins to die because fishing is cutting supplies for penguins’ main food. Zoologists at the University of Washington and Foundation Patagonia Natural in Argentina say, “Today in the journal Science that uncontrolled fishing would be disastrous for wildlife in the region.” These effects could disrupt ecosystem function, other fisheries and ecotourism. Therefore, we should ban people from doing commercial fishing, harvesting, and hunting. And we should ban people’s importing of penguins and exporting of alien species that will cause penguins to become extinct.

Third, we have to do some solution to prevent and reduce global warming to stop global warming from pushing penguins to die. People can study new energy resources for reducing use of fossil fuel. Another easy thing we can do is we have to reuse and recycle, not to use any product for just one time. Wangari Maathai said, “plastic bags clog waste dumps and blight the landscape in Kenya and other countries”(Maathai, 2005. Par.11) and “If we did not use these bags, and instead carried our shopping in more long-lasting and environmentally friendly containers, we could revitalize traditional industries like basket and cloth weaving.” (Maathai, 2005. par.12.) And other is like the “Greenbelt movement,” people have to plant a number of trees, and to reduce logging trees, because trees can reduce the CO2. These things can help us to prevent global warming.

Global warming is a very big problem that causes penguins to become extinct. Some people said global warming is a natural thing. They say we don’t have to care about it and we can do nothing, but global warming pushes penguins to go to extinction. In Science Daily an expert, Lyons said, “The data implies that there may be less food there as temperatures rise.”(Science Daily, 2007, par. 8) and in Science Daily an expert, Lyons also points to the fact “that all the global climate models predict a warming will decrease in sea ice along its margins.”(Science Daily, 2007, par.11). Therefore, we still have to find a way to reduce it becoming worse. We can do something like ban some artificial activity that will push penguins to die and to find some solution to prevent and reduce global warming to stop global warming from pushing penguins to die.

In conclusion, global warming is becoming a serious problem to cause penguins to go to becoming extinct. Because global warming is caused by many reasons, and we can prevent. Therefore, to protect penguins from global warming we can find a new home for penguins, we should ban some artificial activity that will push penguins to die, and we have to find some solution to prevent and reduce global warming and stop global warming from pushing penguins to die. In the end, people should help our adorable penguins survive so that everyone can see it forever.

References

Barringer, F. Wal-Mart is a successful company in America and now they have bought land and are planning to build a new super center. Wal-Mart almost owns all of the market business in America. It can prove Wal-Mart is really successful and most customers accept shopping at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is a good place to go because it is very convenient for us.

Wal-Mart’s price is cheaper than that of other supermarkets, it usually has lot things we want to buy, and it is a 24-hours supermarket. “ It became the biggest employer overnight, setting wage rates for all retailers” (USA TODAY, 2003, par. 21). Wal-Mart also improves the economy. And it has created 125.000 jobs in U.S. (Hoenig, 2004).

Wal-Mart has become important in our life. Some people say Wal-Mart still will cost a lot of money, but the advantage is more than disadvantage. It gives us convenience for buy everything and improves the economy. “Wal-Mart is one of the most impressive success stories in the history of business” (Locke, 2004, par.4). “Wal-Mart’s influence on the U.S. economy has reached levels not seen by a single company since the 19th-cenetruy rise of Standard Oil” (USA TODAY, 2003, par. 1). And it offers us low-price. “Wal-Mart is especially popular among low-income shoppers who cannot afford the prices of the more upscale store” (Locke, 2004. Par-2). We can save money from Wal-Mart because it provides low price and serves communities with long hours.

In conclusion, Wal-Mart is a good place for us to go shopping. It gives convenience; we can buy cheaper stuff at Wal-Mart, and we also can buy it in the middle of the night. Therefore, the new super center is a very good plan for Carbondale, because it will bring another advantage for everyone who lives in Carbondale.

Reference

Hopkins, J. They were almost 120,000 penguins who live in our world and they could live very well. In the past there was a large number of these animals in our world. And penguins had a lot of different colonies in our world; some were African penguins, Gentoo penguins or Antarctic penguins. Now our society has a lot of developed technology and scientific stuff to use, so we make a lot of pollution in our world. It causes global warming and affects penguins’ lives, so penguins become less and less in our world, and fishing, hunting, and commercialism is also a problem.

Now, penguins are becoming extinct, because they have no place that can offer them a home, so finding a new place is important, so we can find new places that have abundant resources, and food that can provide for penguins. Then, we can offer artificial security care to care for penguins and make a new place where no external factors will cause penguins to die. Another thing we also can do is to take care of young penguins during the time when the penguins don't have a good immunity against high temperature.

Second, we should ban some artificial activity which will pushes penguins to die. These kinds of artificial activity also have a big effect to push penguins to die.

Another easy thing we can do is we have to reuse and recycle, not to use any product for just one time, and like the greenbelt movement people have to plant a number of trees, and to reduce logging trees, because trees can reduce the CO2. These things can help us to prevent global warming.

Global warming is a very big problem that causes penguins to become extinct. In this article a researcher, Lyons, said “the marine ecosystems respond dramatically to increases in temperatures.” The temperature causes the krill to become less. Penguins come to have less food to eat. Another thing that causes penguin populations to go southward is the sea ices melt, because the sea ices melt causes penguins to come to have no land to live on. Finally, the points are that less food and sea levels rising are the two bigger things to cause penguins to be endangered. These things push penguins to migrate to other places.

Global warming affects a lot of things. Penguins are the one of animals that gets affected by global warming. Global warming causes climate change and the temperatures to rise. These things cause animals to be unable to live in their own place. Warming is a serious effect for penguins and other animals who live around water. We cannot let these things become worse and worse. If we keep all wing it to become worse, penguins are going to be extinct, because of their food chain, sea levels and the pollution into the sea.

First, warming broke penguins’ food chain. In our biosphere every species has its own food chain to live. But global warming broke it. Global warming changes the climate and makes the temperatures rise. It pushes every species to be unable to adapt to their environment. Some species will die and some will change to a new place to be alive. So, everything will become less and less. The food chain got changed, so naturally it influences penguins’ life.

Second, the sea levels’ rising makes the sea ice go away. Global warming changed the temperatures. The temperature is getting warm enough to make sea ice melt. Therefore, the sea ice’s becoming less and less causes penguins to have no land to live on. Now, penguins are going to find new sea ice to live on and also dead with a lack of food. Therefore, one-day penguins will be extinct.

Third, some pollution goes into the sea to destroy penguins’ ecosystems. The industrial pollution, and oil industry populates the sea. These kinds of pollution make water quality such that some species can’t live in it. It makes species die and penguins cannot live in these kinds of tainted water. Therefore, they become less and less.

In conclusion, the food chain, sea levels and the pollution into the sea are the same thing. Actually these things are in a circle and they are connecting. One thing influences another thing to happen. It is a very serious problem. Therefore, we cannot let these things become worse and worse. If we do not care about it carefully, penguins will become extinct very soon.

Reference:

Science Daily. (2007, February 16). In this article some scientists talk about penguins’ history. They said in the past we had a lot of penguins an the coasts of Namibia and South Africa. But now they mostly live on some island. And this article talks about what kinds of penguins we have and their characteristic. It explains how adorable they are. Then, this article talks about why penguins are becoming endangered. It is about environment and climate change. Specifically it has to be fishing, climate, egg stealing and oil pollution. Now, some organizations have started to protect and help penguins. And some penguin lovers have donated or give penguins more homes because these things are a big problem for penguins.

Penguins are animals on the edge of extinction in the world. Penguins have become less and less in the world. One day they will disappear. It is a terrible thing for everyone in our world. Penguins are adorable and they are one of the special animals we like to see. We cannot let penguins become extinct. We need to begin to reduce something that will cause penguins to be extinct and give penguins protection. Finally, we cannot let penguins become extinct; we also can prevent global warming and we can keep penguins alive for our offspring.

First, we cannot let penguins be extinct; we need to keep them alive. They are an animal that belongs to our world. They live on our earth and make us feel happy when we can see them. And they are a harmless animal for our society, so why do we watch them become extinct. We have to keep penguins alive and protect them. Thus, we can still see the lovely penguins and let penguins make us happy.

Second, to protect penguins we also can prevent global warming. Global warming causes climate change, so if we have some strategies to protect penguins, we also prevent global warming. It is a good thing to do for encouragement. We can from do one thing to get two results. And these things are good for both humans and penguins.

Third, we should keep penguins alive for our offspring. We do not want our offspring to just be able to watch penguins on television or in book. They cannot see this kind of lovely penguin in real life. That’s a kind of melancholy thing for our offspring and our world. In the end, we have to keep penguins and help penguins stay alive. Thus our offspring can see this cute animal in their real life.

In conclusion, now penguins are animals on the edge of extinction in the world. A lot of organizations start to protect and help them. Penguins are one of the wonderful animals in our world. Therefore, when penguins get endangered we have to protect them. I like penguins. For me, they are adorable. I support the idea that penguins must stay alive.

Reference:

Wines, M. (2007, June 04). Penguins: Adorable and endangered. First she indicates animals and plants will become extinct because the climate changed. Some of them will stay in existence, but some of them will die. Second, she explains a study paper that is research Thomas did with his colleagues. The important thing about global warming is that climate changed. And Thomas also indicates the effects of climate change will be habitat destruction, invasions by alien species and overexploitation by humans. Third, Thomas said some species can survive but some will still be confined to a particular area. So, he said it should be related to government. Government should to do some strategies for global warming.

This case shows global warming will make climate change. Next, climate change should be considered as similar to habitat destruction, invasions by alien species and overexploitation by humans. And these things will make a lot of animal and plant extinction. Therefore, government should begin to find some solutions to prevent global warming, like cutting emissions of greenhouse gases. And these are a kind of good solution to protect us. It can make species safe, educate people and make a better life environment.

First, these strategies can make species safe. Global warming has begun to push a lot of species to the edge of extinction. So, if we still want these species alive, we have to do it. In this world we have a lot of unique species, but global warming affects by pushing them to extinction. However we have to keep them alive, because they are unique and valuable. And it also will affect tourism. If some species are disappearing, then we will lose some kind of thing to help our tourism. Therefore, we should prevent extinction and protect ourselves from global warming.

Second, we can educate people in this way. In this century, our technology is developed. We have a lot of electric equipment and scientific stuff we can use, but these kinds of stuff cause global warning. So, we can teach people how to prevent global warming’s becoming worse and educating them to love our earth. We must teach people not to use these kinds of things that will cause global warming too much. In the end, by saving species we also can save human’s lives.

Third, we can make a better life environment. A good environment is a very important thing for every creature. A good environment helps everything grow, giving humans and species good environment to live.

In conclusion, global warming is a really terrible thing for our world and earth. It makes a lot of things disappear, but it is caused by humans. Humans use a lot bad stuff to cause global warming. Finally, it pushes our species to extinction, but now government begins to stop global warming from becoming worse. Therefore, some of species should survive.

Reference:

Bhattacharya S. (2004, January 07). Global warming threatens millions of species. In the past, Harar cues very old; it had a lot of old buildings and an old environment. And it has really bad surroundings like chronic water shortage and not a lot of hotels. But now this city has started to update its environment to be more modern. They have started to build new and modern buildings, do some advertising, and invest for this city. Finally, this city has a good beginning.

Reaction

After reading this article I revived some article about tourism before. Those articles talked about how to improve economics from tourism or wanting to develop their own tourism. In this article, like the last RRJ article I read, both talked about developing tourism, like changing and improving the environment or building a lot of new tourism facilities. But in this article it talks about an ancient Ethiopian city, so it sounds interesting. This city is kind of old and is a holy city for Islam so when I read about how it wants to develop its tourism I feel really it is so newfangled. But every country can have a chance and probability to make their tourism become good or successful. I want and hope that Harar’s tourism can become successful, because it is an old city and they have invested a lot. They pay a lot of mind in the project; so if this develops really successfully that will be very good for them and for this special city.

RRJ no.4

Reference

Bean Yancey, K. The travel company ruled out a conventional long airplane flight and used the bus route, which will take in 20 countries, then will use one short flight at the end. The bus will stop every night for camping and hotel resting in the country they pass through. And this plan can let this group stop and look at this pretty view we never have chance to see.

Reaction

After reading this article I am really surprised, because they don’t use flight to go to Australia. This travel company’s purpose is for their passengers to have a chance to look and enjoy the beautiful view that they pass through. And I really like this travel plan because I like enjoying the view. This trip will pass through a lot of country to arrive at their destination but will stop at some country to get a rest and to enjoy the view. Therefore, this way they can advance the potential economy growth.

Reaction

After reading this article I found that improving economic growth has a lot of ways to do it in the world. Every country and company will find a chance to improve its income. In this, Northern Ireland improved their economy by golf tourism. Every country wants to promote their tourism, because it can advance its economy and makes them more popular. In this article golfers boost Northern Ireland economy, and that’s good for them. But I think golf tourism probably will just be popular for a while. After that will become not special, so they will have to think of other ways to improve their economy. But this is also a benefit to tourism, because it can create a lot of interesting things for everyone to try.

RRJ no.1

Reference

BBC NEWS (2007, August 30). Overseas sales give Diageo a life. Retrieved September 3, 2007. From http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6970247.stm

Summary

In this article, the author reported about overseas sales. Some beer company sells their product overseas. They sell their beer to China, India, Europe, Africa, South America and Canada, and then all of that is successful. This project almost raises their profit. This report also indicates some kind of beer is not popular in some country but it can be popular in other countries. Finally, because these projects are very successful, the Diageo chief executive Paul Wash said they will make these sales more stronger in the future.

Reaction

After reading this article I think this article makes me feel sell overseas is a good idea! Because these sales can offset some part that is not good. Maybe some products are not popular or successful somewhere, but it will be popular and successful in another place. My father’s company also has overseas sells. We produce stuff and sales those things ourselves for domestic and overseas. So, today, finally I know why my father wanted overseas and domestic sales, because it can make more profit and earn more money. Make more and find a lot of ways to be successful!

Food Taboos

I read about food taboos. http://library.thinkquest.org/18802/everfood.htm. It’s talks about some kind of food taboos; for example, 1.Some food taboos are obvious-like something have poisonous. 2. Some food taboos are self-enforced-like vegetarians. 3.Food taboos can be based on religious beliefs 4.and some food taboos are based on traditions, customs and perceptions of the society, and sometimes also on the appearance of the food. And other thing is it explains what is a delicacy and introduces two specialties from China and Norway.

I knew all food taboos in this website, so I wasn’t interested in this part; it make me feel interested in specialty. Because it introduces a creature from Norway, this creature is a fish steeped in lye, and has a distinctive taste and smell and also looks rather strange.
So, it let me know a new strange creature in the world. But some Norwegians eat it and some Norwegians do not. It’s the same situation in Taiwan; some people eat snake and insects but some people do not, I don’t eat it either. Finally the world has many kind of food taboos.

Amish

http://www.amishcenter.com/index.shtml This is a web site I read. This web site is like a museum and talks about Amish. They introduce everything about Amish, like their lifestyle, history and school. And an important thing is they introduce a trip to go to visit Amish country and go to have an experience about Amish, like eat their meal and do their work. The web site also offers products about Amish, like Amish Doll and some different kind of book of Amish, but you cannot order online; you need to call a number to order. Finally, they also have a page to introduce how to join and support their member!

When I read this web site I am so interested in it because it explained Amish lifestyle and have some picture about Amish. So it let me feel interested. And this web site introduced their trip about Amish country, where you can go to eat what Amish eat, go to see Amish house and do their work. It’s a good trip. It can let us know knowledge of Amish. So, I think if maybe one day I will go to Amish country with my friends!

Weblog Assignment #2

I read http://www.thefarm.org/ This website is about the commune the Farm. In this farm nearly about 200 people live in it and now it became an industry. The community offers examples of livelihood, cottage industries, solar building design, perm culture, micro-enterprise, mushroom cultivation, composting and grading, and regenerative hardwood forest management, and it looks like a smaller city. They have any thing the city owns.

They live together and help each other, their jobs and these are closely linked because they think if they don't help each other there will be a problem at their farm and the communities. They talk about how they feel about cohabitation without marriage and a book whose name is “Unmarried to each other” and several links. Everybody talk about their feeling about those. And this web site was made Marshall Miller; she is an author of those books and she also is cohabitating without marriage. She put on several links that let us find something about cohabitation and some different relationship.
Than, when I finished these I feel cohabitation is not a bad thing. It’s very common now; most boyfriends and girlfriends do this. I don’t think this is principled, because it can let boyfriends and girlfriends know if they match or not. And in my opinion I think they are a couple, so if they do this way I don’t think they are doing something wrong. Now, if is a new century so we don’t need to follow the old concept. Cohabitation is a natural thing now.

hello

this is my blog
