Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart is a famous and cheap supermarket in America. Wal-Mart is a successful company in America and now they have bought land and are planning to build a new super center. Wal-Mart almost owns all of the market business in America. It can prove Wal-Mart is really successful and most customers accept shopping at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is a good place to go because it is very convenient for us.

Wal-Mart’s price is cheaper than that of other supermarkets, it usually has lot things we want to buy, and it is a 24-hours supermarket. “ It became the biggest employer overnight, setting wage rates for all retailers” (USA TODAY, 2003, par. 21). Wal-Mart also improves the economy. And it has created 125.000 jobs in U.S. (Hoenig, 2004).

Wal-Mart has become important in our life. Some people say Wal-Mart still will cost a lot of money, but the advantage is more than disadvantage. It gives us convenience for buy everything and improves the economy. “Wal-Mart is one of the most impressive success stories in the history of business” (Locke, 2004, par.4). “Wal-Mart’s influence on the U.S. economy has reached levels not seen by a single company since the 19th-cenetruy rise of Standard Oil” (USA TODAY, 2003, par. 1). And it offers us low-price. “Wal-Mart is especially popular among low-income shoppers who cannot afford the prices of the more upscale store” (Locke, 2004. Par-2). We can save money from Wal-Mart because it provides low price and serves communities with long hours.

In conclusion, Wal-Mart is a good place for us to go shopping. It gives convenience; we can buy cheaper stuff at Wal-Mart, and we also can buy it in the middle of the night. Therefore, the new super center is a very good plan for Carbondale, because it will bring another advantage for everyone who lives in Carbondale.
